Memphis police told FOX13 that a black Nissan was traveling on South Parkway East.

According to police, a black pickup truck fired several times at the Nissan and left the scene.

They said the black Nissan rolled into the intersection of South Third Street and South Parkway East, where it struck a USPS mail truck.

According to investigators, the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died.

FOX13 spoke with a resident who was in the area after the shooting.

He said he was tired of gun violence in the community.

“I have a FOX13 news app on my phone and every day it’s something. They kill each other and no one wins. This is someone’s son, uncle. It’s just sad how we destroy each other these days. It’s really sad,” said resident Elton Frayzier.

Family and friends were across the street mourning their loved one.

They said he was in his 30s and left behind a child.

Memphis police said the investigation is continuing.
