“They picked up black boys and put them in the cage. It’s not like they went there willingly.”

According to the publication, the Western Cape Provincial Department of Education was aware of the clip and had interviewed the affected students and offered them support.

Many internet users were appalled that such behavior would occur 30 years after the founding of a democratic South Africa.
