Cyclist seriously injured in accident with semi-trailer, Fort Worth police say

A cyclist was hit by a semi-trailer truck in northwest Fort Worth on Friday morning and seriously injured, police said.

Just before 5 a.m., officers were called to the 13000 block of Saginaw Boulevard for a serious accident, police said. The victim, a man, was riding his bicycle on a public road when he was struck by the semi-truck.

The cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, officials said. Detectives from the traffic investigation unit are investigating the accident.

It is unclear whether the truck driver will face charges in connection with the accident.
