Israeli airstrikes target Hezbollah in Lebanon after deadly rocket attack

In a significant escalation of violence, Israeli aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon overnight after a deadly rocket attack on a soccer field killed 12 people, including children. The Israeli military confirmed the strikes on Sunday and stressed that the response to the deadly attack had been swift and forceful.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked several locations deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, hitting what it said were Hezbollah terror targets. The attacks focused on areas known for their weapons depots and terrorist infrastructure, including Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam and Tayr Harfa.

“Overnight, the IAF attacked a number of Hezbollah terror targets deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, including weapons depots and terrorist infrastructure in the areas of Chabriha, Borj El Chmali and Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam and Tayr Harfa,” the Israeli military said.
