Trini charged with sexual abuse of a minor in the Turks and Caicos Islands

A citizen of Trinidad and Tobago was accused of sexually abusing a minor in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

A press release from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force on July 26 said 33-year-old Hugh Pickering appeared in court on July 24.

Pickering was granted bail of $5,000 and a cash alternative of $2,500.

Officers from the Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit charged Pickering on July 22 after the minor reported the alleged incident.

Police allege that the alleged crime occurred on July 20 in Providenciales.

The matter was adjourned to 19 August.
