Man dies after falling on Metro Red Line tracks near Universal City – NBC Los Angeles

A man died Saturday after falling onto the Metro Red Line tracks in a tunnel between Universal City and North Hollywood.

According to Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were called to the 5300 block of Lankershim Boulevard, south of Chandler Boulevard, at 2:51 p.m. and requested an ambulance for a person on the tracks who was unconscious and not breathing.

The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

There was no evidence that the man had been hit by one of the electric trains, but Im said: “He was in a place he shouldn’t be.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the dead man was found in the 3900 block of Lankershim Boulevard at 3:37 p.m.
