Woman injured in car accident on country road near Chillicothe

On July 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred on northbound Livingston County Road 239, two miles north of Chillicothe.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Rebecca M. Cox, 22, of Chillicothe, was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus northbound when the vehicle left the east side of the roadway and overturned. The Ford Taurus came to rest on its roof, facing east.

Cox, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries in the crash. She was taken by Chillicothe EMS to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment. The vehicle was totaled and was towed by Brotherton’s.

The accident was investigated by Trooper JC Acree with assistance from Corporal BN Raney and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
