Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video statement following the attack on the occupied Golan Heights in which, according to the Israeli military, 12 people, all teenagers and young adults, were killed.

The prime minister said he would return to Israel early and convene the security cabinet as soon as he arrives.

“The State of Israel will not stand by and accept this. We will not ignore this,” he said in Hebrew.

Israel is preparing a “response” to Hezbollah after several attacks on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights killed at least 10 people, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a statement on Saturday. Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the attack.

Israel continues to accuse Hezbollah of responsibility for the attacks, although it denies this.

“This is one attack after another that has been going on in the north for more than nine months. Hezbollah is attacking our citizens in the north, firing thousands of rockets and missiles and drones into northern Israel, targeting families, homes and communities. The Israel Defense Forces are currently assessing the situation and we will prepare to respond against Hezbollah. We will complete our assessments and act,” Hagari said in a video message.

A senior Israeli official traveling with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning to Hezbollah hours after an attack on the occupied Golan Heights killed at least 10 people.

“Hezbollah will pay a heavy price. Hezbollah, like Hamas and the other Iranian proxies, attacks civilians and does so intentionally,” the senior official told ABC News.

Ten people were killed and 24 others injured in attacks on Majdal Shams, a town in the occupied Golan Heights, which the Israel Defense Forces said came from Lebanon.

The Israeli military said in a statement that it believes Hezbollah was behind the attack. Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the attack.
