Fatal crash on Interstate 90 under investigation | News

KINGSVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OHP) is investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 90.

At 10:13 a.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 90, near milepost 235, according to a news release from OHP.

The release states that a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu was being driven west by Luke P. Gallagher, 59, of Conneaut, Ohio, when the car crossed the median and struck a pillar of the bridge that carries Route 193 over the Interstate led.

Gallagher was pulled from the vehicle before it caught fire and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

Kingsville Fire/EMS assisted in extinguishing the fire. According to the release, the department and Ohio Department of Transportation personnel assisted with traffic control.

The crash is still under investigation.
