Man arrested for raping his 14-year-old daughter in Ghaziabad | Delhi News

A 44-year-old man was arrested in Ghaziabad on Friday for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter. In the police complaint, originally filed by his wife, in which she alleged that her daughter was raped, the accused was identified as ‘Golu’.

However, as investigators later discovered, the girl’s father had allegedly been sexually abused for over two years.

Ravi Kumar Singh, deputy superintendent of police of Nandgram, said that the girl was initially unwilling to talk despite repeated attempts. “Later, we asked our sub-inspectors to counsel her. She told us that her father had been sexually abusing her for the past two years, after which we arrested the father,” Singh said.

“The girl was taken to a hospital after complaining of abdominal pain. An ultrasound scan revealed that she was seven months pregnant,” the Nandgram ACP said.

“My 14-year-old daughter was complaining of stomach pain, dizziness and fever for the last five to six months,” said the girl’s mother. “I got her medicines from a local pharmacy but to no avail. On June 10, I took her to a hospital in Ghaziabad. The doctor prescribed her medicine,” she said.

Festive offer

The girl’s mother said that she took her daughter to the hospital again on July 6 after not seeing any improvement in her health. “This time, the doctor asked for a full body check-up and prescribed medicines. Still, there was no improvement. On July 24, the doctor ordered an ultrasound scan,” the girl’s mother said.

Police officer Ravendra Gautam said the father had confessed to sexually abusing his daughter. “We will file charges soon,” he said. “The doctor will soon decide on her pregnancy as the girl is in her 28th week of pregnancy,” the ACP said.
