‘It’s About the Kids’: Metro Atlanta Rallies to Help Stuff the Bus! – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — We put out a call and people from across the metro area answered the call to help fill the buses once again this year, helping give kids a great start to the new school year.

Mary Margret and Anna-Kate were among the first to arrive at the Kroger in Marietta Saturday morning, bringing new school supplies to help “fill the bus.”

The two girls, who came with their father, brought school supplies as a donation and left with something meaningful in return.

“We are learning to be grateful and thankful at home. Ironically, we had a long discussion about it yesterday and thought it was divine providence this morning when we saw something pop up on the news,” said Father Erik Woodson.

This year, News on channel 2 The initiative was bolstered by stationing buses in eight locations across the Atlanta metropolitan area to receive donations.

News on channel 2 has partnered with CRN for two decades, working to make a difference in the lives of children in need.

Ivy Offordum, a retiree from Cobb County, also passed by with backpacks and binders.

“It’s for the kids. Everybody needs help today, in one way or another. So, if it’s the least I can do,” she said.

The generosity of local residents like Mary Margret, Anna-Kate and Ivy helps ensure that children in need have the school supplies they need for the upcoming school year.
