Houston, Texas News: Sinkhole Causes Evacuation of Homes

HOUSTON — A sinkhole in west Houston prompted the precautionary evacuation of eight homes Saturday after a water tank collapsed, according to the Houston Fire Department.

It happened at Sutherland Terrace Place, which is near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Gessner Road.

It is unclear how long the evacuations will last. No injuries were reported in the incident.

HFD said engineers were on scene assessing the damage.
