1 dead in Aurora after motorcycle loses control and crashes into guardrail

A woman died after a fatal accident on Smoky Hill Road in Aurora on Friday evening.

Aurora officers responded to reports of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Smoky Hill Road and Tufts Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday, the police department said in a Statement on social mediaThe intersection is located just south of Quincy Avenue.

Police said the woman – whose identity has not yet been released – lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into the guardrail. The impact threw the woman from her motorcycle and she died of her injuries at the scene.

The woman was probably driving too fast at the time of the accident and no other vehicles were involved, police said.
