Dog sexually abused in Mumbai shopping mall

Mumbai (Maharashtra) (India), October 25 (ANI): A case was registered after a female dog was allegedly sexually assaulted at a mall in Powai on Thursday.

The dog was taken to a medical facility where an 11-inch wooden stick was recovered from her private area. The dog, Noorie, is in critical condition and the stick was removed.

Powai police have registered a case against unknown persons under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

“We visited the spot of the incident. The next day, on October 23, a case was registered against unknown persons. The investigation is on. We are currently checking the CCTV footage from the crime scene,” Vijay Dalvi, police officer of Powai police station, told ANI.

The incident came to light on Thursday when a woman who provides food and medicine to animals on a daily basis found the dog bleeding. (ANI)
