Madhya Pradesh teenager rapes and kills his younger sister after watching porn; his family helps him cover it up

Rewa (Madhya Pradesh):A 13-year-old boy allegedly raped and murdered his nine-year-old sister in their home in Rewa district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh three months ago after she watched porn videos on his mobile phone. The victim’s brother, mother and two sisters, aged 17 and 18, were arrested after questioning on Saturday.

The girl’s body was found in the yard of the house in Jawa village where she had slept on April 24. Police recorded the statements of family members who said that the girl had slept in the yard with her mother and brother. Her mother’s health deteriorated late at night and she went to the room to sleep. After that, she was bitten by a poisonous insect.

However, the post-mortem report revealed that she was strangled after the rape. The police recorded statements of 50 people and their family members and the accused was interrogated intensively. Based on technical evidence, the accused was arrested under various sections including the POCSO Act.

Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh said that a case has been registered and investigation has been initiated following the incident. An SIT has been set up under the leadership of Additional SP Vivek Lal to probe the case.

“During investigation, the SIT team suspected that the killer was not a stranger but someone from the family as no one had entered the house on the day of the incident. The statements of the family members also raised suspicions. While collecting technical evidence, the mobile phone of the victim’s brother was examined. After questioning the family members, they revealed the incident,” Lal said.

The family members told the police that on the night of the incident, the boy slept next to his sister in the courtyard and raped her after watching obscene videos on his mobile phone. When the victim started crying and threatened to tell her father, the boy got scared and strangled her. He then woke up his mother and told her what he had done. His mother found that the girl was still alive and strangled her again. By this time, his two elder sisters had woken up and together hatched a plan to cover up the incident.

They deceived the police and their neighbors by changing their sleeping position and took their daughter’s body to two doctors, claiming that she had been bitten by a poisonous insect.

However, an acquaintance found blood on the girl’s body, and the family went to the government hospital. There, it was suspected that the girl had been sexually abused before her death. The family then brought the body home and informed the police. A report was then filed and an investigation was launched.
