Scattered showers and storms this weekend

(KFVS) – There will be some rain in some places today, but the greatest risk of thunderstorms will be overnight.

Lows this morning will be between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius, with some areas showing some fog. For the rest of the day, heavy cloud cover and highs of up to 27 degrees Celsius are expected.

Today we can expect mainly isolated showers and thunderstorms.

A small, scattered system will move through our southwestern counties this morning, bringing light rain. Rain chances will increase throughout the afternoon and evening.

However, Meghan Smith says the greatest storm threat will arrive overnight. This system could bring heavier rain and localized flooding.

Most parts of the Heartland will receive some rain from this system, but Bootheel and western Kentucky counties are most likely to be affected by the storms.

Things will clear up on Sunday as this overnight low pressure system moves out of the Heartland around noon. There will be a few isolated showers, but you can expect much drier conditions and clearer skies. Highs will be back in the 30s.
