13-year-old injured in shooting in Norfolk near Lambert’s Point

According to police, the shooting occurred around 8:40 p.m. Friday on West 26th Street, just off Hampton Boulevard.

NORFOLK, Virginia – Police confirm a 13-year-old girl was injured in a shooting in Norfolk Friday night.

The shooting occurred around 8:40 p.m. on West 26th Street, just off Hampton Boulevard and near Lambert’s Point.

According to Noel Lipieko, spokesman for Norfolk Police, officers who arrived at the scene found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound, but it was not life-threatening.

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

As of Saturday morning, Lipieko said the investigation into the shooting was still ongoing. She said anyone with information is asked to call the Norfolk Crime Line to assist police.
