Man found dead next to crashed car in Bankhead, homicide squad investigating

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead next to a crashed car in northwest Atlanta Saturday morning, police said.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., police were called to Fox Street NW in Bankhead, where they found the victim. Witnesses told police that the car sped down the street and collided with another car, causing the driver to run away.

The victim, who police said was the car’s passenger, had no visible gunshot wounds, officials said. The cause of death is unclear.

Neither the victim nor the driver were identified by police.
