Shooting in Chicago: Police report 14-year-old boy shot in Woodlawn Alley

CHICAGO (WLS) — A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the city’s south side on Friday evening, Chicago police said.

Investigators said it happened around 10:45 p.m. Friday night near 65th Street and Cottage Grove.

The teenager was running through an alley when someone in a black Jeep fired shots, police said.

The boy was hit in the stomach and taken to Comers Children’s Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody.
