One dead after accident on Highway 21 in Covington

COVINGTON – One person was killed in a crash on Highway 21 in St. Tammany Parish Friday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.

According to police, 25-year-old Jonathan Brister of Covington died after his Chevrolet Cruze crossed the center line of LA Highway 21 and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado.

Brister was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was properly secured, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
