Accident involving five cars during police operation early this morning

Five cars collided during a police operation in the early hours of the morning. Rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident.

West Midlands Police said multiple vehicles were involved in an accident on Olton Boulevard East at the junction with Northanger Road in Acocks Green. The accident occurred at around 6.35am today, Friday 12 April.

No injuries were reported. The police closed the road, which has since been reopened. One of the damaged cars was still at the scene of the accident today.

A police spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: “We were called to Olton Boulevard East at the junction of Northanger Road in Solihull at around 6.35am today (April 12) to reports of a crash involving five cars. No injuries were reported and the road has now reopened.”

Taking to X, formerly X, NX West Midlands posted: “Due to an incident on Olton Boulevard East #Acocks Green, Route 1 will be diverted in both directions via Shirley Road. U-turn at the roundabout and use Shirley Road, Westley Road and Fox Hollies Road. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
