Three family members of popular gospel group The Nelons among the seven dead in horrific plane crash on the way to a concert

THE Nelons – America’s beloved gospel family – were involved in a fatal plane crash on their way to a concert.

Seven people died in the horror accident, including three members of the Grammy-nominated Family In Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark and her daughter Amber.

Amber’s husband Nathan Kistler, family assistant Melodi Hodges, and pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa also died.

The fourth member of the Nelon, Autumn Nelon Streetman was not on the plane at the time.

The band members were on their way to Alaska to take part in the Gaither Homecoming Cruise when their plane crashed over Wyoming.

The plane reportedly burst into flames when it crashed, while firefighters and rescue workers rushed to the scene as a forest fire broke out.

There were no survivors, the Wyoming Sheriff’s Office said.

Autumn Nelon Streetman released a statement on the tragedy, saying: “As many of you have heard by now, my father and mother, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister Amber and brother-in-law Nathan, and our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry and Melissa Haynie, were involved in a tragic plane crash on Friday.

“Thank you for the prayers already extended to me, my husband Jamie and our soon to be born son, and Jason’s parents Dan and Linda Clark.

“We thank you for your continued prayers, love and support in the days ahead.”

A video taken shortly before boarding the crashed plane shows a smiling Jason talking to his family and the pilot on a runway in Nebraska.

According to Flightaware.com, the jet was a Pilatus PC-12/47E owned by Haynie Enterprises.

The National Transportation Safety Board will now investigate the crash.

The Nelons are considered one of the most legendary families in US gospel history and were inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016.

Her biggest hits include “I Shall Not Be Moved,” “Come Morning,” and “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.”

During their career they have also been nominated for a Grammy three times.
