Halo Atlanta Major Tournament Now Live With $250,000 On The Line

The Halo Championship Series Atlanta Major is now live and will run through the end of the weekend. With a $250,000 prize pool on the line, there’s a lot to play for, and both OpTic Gaming and FaZe Clan have stormed into the tournament with solid leads and top-tier performances. While FaZe Clan has the tournament advantage and momentum after winning the HCS London Major, OpTic Gaming has a lot to fight for this time around.

The race to the champions

Once the HCS Major in Atlanta concludes, players will head to Salt Lake City to compete in the final Major of the season. Then, all eyes will turn to the World Championship, which will be held at Xbox headquarters in Seattle, Washington in October. Last year’s Champs tournament ended with an epic showdown between FaZe and OpTic, with the former team taking the victory and the top prize.

It looks like we might go down that path again this year.

The HCS Atlanta Major is off to a great start, with FaZe Clan dominating the table. On the stat sheet, the team is in fine form, with Snakebite racking up a K/D of 1.79 – three of the top five players on the leaderboard are from FaZe Clan.

In a brief interview with The Narrative, Snakebite gave his feelings on the tournament so far:

I would say we are happy with the way we played – we won 3-0 in both series so we can’t complain too much, but we definitely need a lot more energy going into the weekend. We know that, so hopefully we’ll bring it.

OpTic Gaming fell a little behind, getting a close finish against Pure with a 3-2 scoreline, but then dominating the ITB in the following series – this shows that there is still some work needed for the team to perfect their performances before the next stage.
