The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office launched its investigation into Mason after he was arrested in April 2023 after receiving a report of sexual assault against a minor.

Investigators found that he had also engaged in sexual acts with a dog, the sheriff’s department said at the time. Detectives concluded that the acts had taken place over a period of several years, the department said.

At the time of his arrest last year, Mason was 18 years old and lived in Clovis.
