Two technicians killed, eleven others injured in traffic accident

The driver and passenger of an SUV died on the spot when the vehicle hit the median at Turkapally in Shamirpet on Friday. The vehicle jumped the median and overturned on the opposite lane, after which a two-wheeler rider collided with the car.

The deceased in the SUV, identified as Shekar Mohan Valle, 25, and M. Deepika, 23, who worked for an IT company in Mindspace, were on their way to work.

The driver lost control, hit the central barrier and overturned into the oncoming lane. While the motorcycle crashed into the car, the bus veered off the road to avoid it. Both the driver and pillion of the motorcycle were seriously injured and about 10 employees of a pharmaceutical company who were traveling in the bus sustained injuries, Genome Valley police said. There were 44 passengers on the bus.

The bodies were taken to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy and the injured were taken to nearby private hospitals, police said. The three vehicles involved were removed from the road to allow traffic to flow again.
