Tulsa police rescue man after fentanyl overdose while executing arrest warrant | News

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa police officers rescued a man who had overdosed on fentanyl while executing an arrest warrant for a suspected car theft.

On July 17, officers executed an arrest warrant for Nolen Zack, a suspect in a car theft, at a home near 15th Street and Memorial.

When officers arrived, Zack’s mother said he was not home but promised to call when he got home.

As officers left, the mother told them that she found Zack unconscious in his upstairs room.

Officers found Zack in critical condition, struggling to breathe and with worrying discoloration.

The police immediately administered Narcan to him five times.

Due to clutter and obstructions in the house, police carried Zack down the stairs so that he could receive further treatment from arriving paramedics. Police said he regained consciousness during this time.

Medical personnel diagnosed a fentanyl overdose and Zach admitted to taking it after finding it in his brother’s room.

Zack was taken to the hospital and Tulsa police said officers’ timely arrival likely saved his life.

After being released from the hospital, Zack was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
