Accidents on the 81 in Chambersburg and the 70 in Hagerstown bring traffic to a standstill

July 26, 2024 – Multiple accidents in the tri-state area are causing complete traffic bottlenecks and disruptions this afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police, Franklin Fire Company, Chambersburg EMS and several fire department units are in the area of ​​the on- and off-ramps of I-81NB, mile 14 (Wayne Avenue) in Guilford Township, just outside of Chambersburg Borough. Emergency scanners appear to indicate a motorcycle crash in that area with the left lane closed. Fire departments are either currently directing traffic or are on their way to arrive shortly.

In Hagerstown, fire and emergency services are in the area of ​​I-70EB just before the Dual Highway/US-40 exit due to a car crash that has backed up traffic past the Downsville Pike area. Please use caution when driving through these two areas this afternoon.
