Rape: 19-year-old accused of raping a deaf-mute girl | Surat News

Surat: A 19-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old deaf-mute girl in Piplod area of ​​the city. The accused allegedly took the victim to his house and raped her on several occasions. The girl’s family came to know about the rape when it was revealed that the minor was pregnant. Umra police have filed charges of kidnapping and rape against the man. According to the case details, the youth was employed at a food stall near Shardayatan School in Surat’s Piplod area. The girl passed by the food stall on her way to work. They got acquainted. Since the girl could neither speak nor hear, the man communicated with her through signs. They also made video calls in sign language. Once, the youth took the girl to his room and allegedly raped her. He repeated the act several times in the past year. About four months ago, the girl fell ill and was admitted to the public hospital. Doctors found that she was pregnant. Since she was a minor, the police were informed and a rape complaint was filed. The girl is from Bihar while the youth is from Jharkhand. According to police, the accused is 19 years old on his Aadhaar card. However, police suspect that he might be a minor and have contacted the Jharkhand police and tried to get in touch with the school he attended.
