Pungo Ferry Bridge closed due to boat accident

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Pungo Ferry Road at the Pungo Ferry Bridge in Virginia Beach is closed Friday following a boating accident.

Virginia Beach authorities did not provide further details but said a boating accident was the cause and that city engineers were investigating possible impacts to the bridge.

“Please plan your alternative routes accordingly. We will let you know when the bridge reopens,” the city said in a tweet.
