Ruston to discontinue recycling service on August 1

RUSTON, Louisiana (KNOE) – The City of Ruston will temporarily suspend recycling services effective August 1.

City officials say their previous supplier closed due to a fire at its Texas facility. Mayor Ronny Walker says the city immediately began searching for a new supplier.

City officials say residents will not be charged for recycling while service is suspended. The city asks that people do not put trash in the blue recycling bins, as they will no longer be emptied. Residents are asked to leave the recycling bins at home for now.
