Upper Bidwell Park, east of Chico, California

The Park Fire, which began on July 24, 2024, continues to rage in Upper Bidwell Park in Butte and Tehama counties. The wildfire, believed to have been started by arson, has quickly grown to 164,286 acres and has not been contained as of this morning.

0 deaths among civilians and firefighters

The Park Fire is burning fiercely, especially when raging on slopes and in winds, resulting in rapid fire spread and detection. A Red Flag Warning is in effect due to gusty winds and low humidity exacerbating fire conditions. The fire is consuming grass, brush, mixed wood and dead vegetation.
