FIRST WARNING FORECAST – New daily rainfall record on Thursday!

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Thursday brought record-breaking rainfall to Tucson with 1.83 inches in the bucket at the airport! Our previous daily record for July 25 was 1.50 inches from 2021. Since Thursday was so active in eastern Pima County, Friday should be much quieter. Scattered to isolated thunderstorms are still possible in the afternoon and evening, but chances seem to be concentrated over Santa Cruz and Cochise counties and up in the White Mountains. If there is rain in Tucson, it will likely be late evening and overnight. Additionally, an Air Quality Alert has been issued for the greater Tucson area as high ozone levels are expected this afternoon. Children, older adults and people with respiratory conditions should limit outdoor physical activity.
