Police kill dog that attacked 7-year-old girl in Brooklyn Park, police say

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – An investigation is underway in Brooklyn Park after a dog attacked a young girl on Tuesday. Just a few days earlier, a In another dog attack in the city, a child’s life was in danger.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 7500 block of Janell Avenue North at 4:40 p.m. after receiving a report that a 7-year-old girl had been attacked by a dog.

When officers arrived, the dog was running around freely. When officers tried to catch the dog, it tried to attack a boy. According to police, officers then “taken care of” the dog.

The girl suffered superficial injuries in the attack.

Last week, another dog attack left a three-year-old in critical condition in the 7500 block of Brooklyn Park Drive North, about five miles east of Tuesday’s attack.

The boy was playing on a playground equipment outside the house when he was attacked, police said.

According to police, several officers fired their service weapons and struck both dogs. One of the dogs was killed and the other injured.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
