Teenager arrested after fatal hit-and-run on Pulaski Highway, Baltimore police say – Baltimore Sun

A 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday night after fatally hitting a 31-year-old man riding an electric scooter, according to Baltimore police.

Southeast District officers responded to the 3500 block of Pulaski Highway, which separates the Ellwood Park/Monument and Baltimore Highlands neighborhoods, shortly before 10 p.m. after a 2009 Mazda struck the man and left the scene, Baltimore police said in a news release. The man, whose name was not released by police, died at the hospital.

The driver of the Mazda, a 16-year-old boy, was located by police “a short time later” in the 2800 block of Jefferson Street in the McElderry Park neighborhood of East Baltimore, the press release said.

The teenager was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center where he was charged. Detectives from the Baltimore Police Department Crash Team are investigating the accident.
