Woman dead after shooting and accident near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road

PHOENIX – Phoenix police are investigating a shooting and subsequent crash that left a woman dead early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road

During the investigation, officers learned that a woman was shot while driving by an occupant of another vehicle. During the shooting, the victim was observed to drive off the road and crash into a large cement irrigation box.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman dead in her wrecked vehicle.

It is unclear whether the woman died in the accident or the shooting; the investigation is ongoing.
