2 people arrested and over 100,000 marijuana plants seized in OBN raid in Ardmore

Two people were arrested after the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics obtained a search warrant for a marijuana farm in Ardmore on Tuesday, the agency said.

According to OBN, agents identified numerous individuals who entered the farm near Smokey Ridge Road and Bill Short Road and illegally purchased more than 50 pounds of marijuana during each visit.

“We found that the operators of this marijuana farm were loading up to 1,000 pounds of marijuana into refrigerated trucks at a time,” said OBN spokesman Mark Woodward.

Woodward also said the marijuana was being brought to the black market in places like New York City, Chicago and parts of Florida.

In addition to the OBN, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office and the Carter County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in executing the search warrant.

According to the OBN, after arriving at the plantation, agents seized 106,062 marijuana plants and 1,120 pounds of processed marijuana and arrested two people.

According to OBN, 34-year-old Wen Bin Haung and 37-year-old Wen Zhang Huang were taken into custody and are accused of, among other things, aggravated marijuana trafficking.

“Oklahoma’s marijuana program is no longer viewed nationally as the so-called ‘Wild West of Weed,'” said OBN Director Donnie Anderson. “Oklahoma has now earned a proud reputation for having some of the most efficient and effective regulatory and law enforcement efforts of any state that allows medical marijuana. The industry itself has expressed its continued support and appreciation for our efforts to protect legal businesses and eliminate the black market.”
