Police investigate after man with gunshot wound enters Yale New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (WTNH) — A shooting victim was admitted to Yale New Haven Hospital without an appointment Tuesday evening, according to New Haven police.

According to police, the 38-year-old man did not suffer fatal injuries.


Officials believe the man was injured in a shooting reported in the area of ​​Washington and West streets around 11 p.m. Tuesday. The shooting was reported via ShotSpotter.

According to police, the man arrived at the hospital about ten minutes after the ShotSpotter was activated.

Police are also investigating a non-fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon that left a teenager injured on Wayfarer Street.

Two other people were also shot on Wayfarer Street on Monday. It was one of three shootings in the city that day.
