Five chilling words a Secret Service agent uttered after finding Trump shooter dead on roof

Five chilling words a Secret Service agent uttered after finding Trump shooter dead on roof

Bodycam footage of police officers discovering the body of the gunman who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump has been released

Footage shows the moment Secret Service agents and local police discovered the body of the suspected gunman who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump.

On July 13, the former President of the United States was shot while speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

After several shots were fired, US Secret Service agents neutralised the shooter – now identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks – who succumbed to his injuries. And now a video has been released showing the chilling five words uttered by a US official upon seeing Crooks’ body.

Chuck Grassley shared on Twitter body camera footage he received from the Beaver County Emergency Department “at the request of Congress.”

He continues: “SENSITIVE CONTENT: The July 13 bodycam footage provides more information than the Secret Service will share with America. We NEED detailed answers about security failures ASAP. TRANSPARENCY BRINGS ACCOUNTABILITY.”

The clip shows the moment when officers reached the roof around 7 p.m. and found the shooter’s body.

A man wearing a red tie and a Secret Service star on his jacket collar appears to begin informing the rest of the team about what just happened.

And in a matter-of-fact tone he states: “So, that’s the guy.”

He further questions whether this “guy” is the one “snipers saw” and ultimately neutralized after several shots were fired at Trump during the rally.

Another officer confirms that it is him, and the camera pans over to show a body lying on the ground with blood running down the roof.

The officers then appear to work together to develop theories about how the shooting happened, all the while standing next to the body and the blood.

The release of the footage came shortly after news broke that US Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle had resigned after several people called for her resignation.

In her resignation letter, she acknowledged that the agency had failed to protect the “nation’s leaders” and said she was leaving her post “with a heavy heart.”

She continued: “Control has been intense over the past week and will remain so as our operational tempo increases.”

“I do not want my calls for your resignation to distract from the great work each and every one of you is doing for our vital mission.”

While Trump remained unharmed except for an injury to his right upper ear, two other participants were shot and injured and one man was killed.
