The fallout from CrowdStrike continues, Delta now faces a federal investigation

Delta is now facing a federal investigation as it cancels flights for the fifth straight day since the global CrowdStrike outage hit the airline industry. While many other companies appear to have bounced back after a faulty update that crashed 8.5 million Windows PCs, Delta continues to struggle.

According to a report by CBS, as of 7:30 p.m. ET on July 23, the airline has canceled 478 flights and postponed another 1,440. This prompted the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Aviation Consumer Protection to launch an official investigation. In a statement to CBS, the Department of Transportation said it was “investigating Delta Air Lines following continued widespread flight disruptions and reports of concerning customer service lapses.”
