Woman sexually assaulted in stairwell of apartment building in Langford

The West Shore Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are actively searching for a male suspect following a sexual assault that occurred at an apartment complex on Spencer Road in Langford.

The incident occurred on July 22 at around 11 p.m. at 2763 Spencer Road.

According to police, a woman was sexually assaulted in the stairwell of the apartment building. The victim suffered injuries and received medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 20 and 30 with light skin.

He is about 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall and was wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up and black pants at the time of the attack.

The West Shore RCMP Special Victims Unit is leading the investigation with assistance from the Forensics Unit. Officers have been searching the home and surrounding area for witnesses and video surveillance devices.

Residents within a two-block radius of the incident are urged to review their home surveillance or dashboard camera footage and contact West Shore RCMP with any relevant information.

“Because police do not know the suspect, we advise residents of the building and the public in the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP spokesperson.
