No change Wednesday. Widespread heavy rain will fall across Southeast Texas. Rich tropical moisture gives us another flood threat. For now, it looks like the highest totals will be south of I-10.

Forecast for Thursday:

The stalled front responsible for our flood threat is still here on Thursday. The Weather Prediction Center has increased our flood threat to a Level 2 out of 4. Don’t let your guard down.

The stalled front is mixing with tropical moisture and bringing waves of rain and thunderstorms. Overall, we will see another 3 to 5 inches of rain over the next five days. Street flooding is possible in the morning or afternoon.

There is no tropical activity in the Gulf, Caribbean or Atlantic Ocean. Saharan dust has been very abundant across much of the tropical Atlantic, keeping things very quiet.
