Accident: 21-year-old dies in hit-and-run accident in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: A 21-year-old employee of a private company died in an accident on Cunningham Road on Monday night. His family claimed it was a hit and run while police suspect he was at fault. The victim is Ayush Aiyappa, a B.Com graduate from Kodagu who lives in Marathahalli. According to police, the accident occurred at 10.30 pm when Ayush was riding a Honda Dio scooter towards Chandrika junction. A passing autorickshaw driver saw him lying on the road with severe head injuries. With the help of other motorists, he took Ayush to nearby Manipal Hospital where doctors declared him dead. High Grounds traffic police went to the accident spot and found the damaged scooter with a half helmet on by the roadside. Police suspect that Ayush lost his balance, fell on the road and hit the bollard on the pavement. The spot where he fell is not monitored by CCTV. “We are checking the cameras of Chandrika junction and surrounding buildings to see if any vehicle hit his scooter,” police said. Ayush’s father Aiyappa Balchand claimed that an unknown vehicle collided with his son’s two-wheeler, causing his death.
