Auburn Police Arrest Suspect in Connection to Early Tuesday Morning Assault/Shooting

Auburn Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in connection with an early morning assault and shooting.

The suspect was taken into custody at 11:18 a.m. and is charged with multiple counts of first-degree assault and drive-by shooting, according to police.

The incident began at 1:59 a.m. when officers responded to numerous 911 calls reporting gunshots near the 31800 block of 120th Avenue SE, near Green River College (map below).

Upon arrival, officers received a report from a local hospital that a 39-year-old woman had been admitted with a gunshot wound.

Initial investigations indicate the shooting stemmed from a verbal argument in a residential unit that escalated into gunfire. The woman’s condition is currently unknown, but she is reportedly cooperating with authorities.

No other suspects were arrested.
