Police advance on a pro-Palestinian camp at the University of Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police and University of Pennsylvania police appeared to descend on the pro-Palestinian camp set up on College Green Friday morning.

“Penn Police are warning everyone at the College Green Encampment to disperse immediately. If you don’t take your belongings and leave within two minutes, you will be considered a defiant trespasser and will be arrested. If you leave now, you won’t be arrested. said Penn Public Safety in a post on X.

The warehouse entered its 16th day Police reportedly arrested several people from the camp on Friday morning.

This happens less than 24 hours later Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro called the university to disband the camp.

The camp was set up because of the Israel-Hamas war and protesters are demanding that Penn cut its ties with companies that support Israel.
