When Indian-American Kamala Harris came into the spotlight after Joe Biden’s exit from the race for the White House, she became the target of trolling and racist abuse. The US Vice President was the target of harsh criticism, with many accusing her of not having children.

Following Biden’s endorsement of Harris, an old video of JD Vance, who has been nominated as Donald Trump’s running mate for the 2024 presidential election, has gone viral on social media. Back in 2021, the Ohio senator called Harris one of the “childless cat ladies” who was “unhappy” because she has no direct stake in the United States since she is not a mother.

Speaking at an Intercollegiate Studies Institute conference, Vance took aim at Harris in particular, asking, “Why is it a matter of course that the leaders of our country are people who have no personal and direct stake in it through their own descendants?”

Later, during an appearance with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, the Ohio Republican intensified his criticism of childless Democrats.

“We are governed in this country, by the Democrats, by our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are unhappy with their own lives and the choices they have made and therefore want to make the rest of the country unhappy as well,” he explained.

Referring to Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg and AOC, he continued, “It’s just a fundamental fact” that the “entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children.” “And what sense does it make us hand our country over to people who have no direct stake in it,” he added.

X-user Will Chamberlain stated in a post on the social media platform that Harris is not qualified to run for president because she does not have children.

According to his now viral post with 12.2 million views, Harris will never be able to understand the concerns of parents and families. He specifically mentioned that being a stepmom or stepfather to older teenagers doesn’t count.

“Really simple, little discussed reason why Kamala Harris should not be president. No kids,” he wrote.

One X user responded to his post, writing, “Just like George Washington, James Polk, Warren Harding, James Buchanan, and Andrew Jackson.” In response, Chamberlain wrote, “So you’re saying it’s been 100 years since we’ve had a childless president. That’s supposed to be convincing?”

“Pretty ugly, Will, you should delete that,” asked another.

A third user wrote: “Wow that’s all you got. Trump doesn’t have a dog what are you trying to say?” and another shot back at Chamberlain: “Seriously Will. Take that down.”
