Summer in Houston is still here and for those looking for activities with family and friends, petting zoos around the Houston suburbs are an option.

Here’s a look at petting zoos in the Houston suburbs:

Turquoise Acres Ranch — Katy

Turquoise Acres Ranch in Katy offers a family-friendly petting zoo for $12 for children and $15 for adults. This local zoo allows visitors to picnic and enjoy several animals such as longhorns, cows, goats, pigs and more on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. From Tuesday to Saturday.

Turquoise Acres Ranch also offers add-ons for an additional cost with an ATV adventure tour, cow hugs, farm chores, private cabins or water activities.

Houston Interactive Aquarium and Wildlife Sanctuary — Humble

The Houston Interactive Aquarium & Animal Preserve is another local petting zoo located in Humble that offers fun activities and promotes education for children. The Houston Interactive Aquarium & Animal Preserve is home to many different animals, including turtles and tortoises, lemurs, bearded dragons, and sea creatures, including sharks and stingrays.

The Houston Interactive Aquarium & Animal Preserve offers annual passes for $69.95 per person and day passes range from $29.95 to $29.95.

The Educational Zoo — Montgomery County

The Learning Zoo in Conroe is a safari near you, according to its website. This local zoo offers a fun and educational experience for children. The Learning Zoo offers open hours, private tours, birthday parties and learning programs. General admission to this zoo is $8 to $10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.

TGR Exotic Animal Park — Spring

TGR Exotics Wildlife Park in Spring has been a major attraction for residents for years. According to TGR’s website, it all started with the purchase of a Vietnamese pig and a llama in 1992. Today, the wildlife park is home to several different exotic animals, such as a water buffalo, a caracal, an owl, a red kangaroo, a deer and more. Admission to the local zoo costs $10 for children under 2 and $30 for older children and adults.

The Good Vibrations Farm — Tomball

Good Vibe Farm is another unique farm-style zoo in Tomball. What started as a Tomball horse rescue farm before the pandemic is now a private petting farm with nearly 100 animals. Good Vibe Farm operates as a petting zoo with chickens, donkeys, horses, cows, goats, fish, turtles, ducks, a pig, and farm cats. This farm offers tickets for $15 for children and $5 for adults.
