The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a deal with left winger Beck Malenstyn that will see the left winger earn $1.35 million over each of the next two seasons, according to Elliotte Friedman.

Malenstyn would have otherwise been sent to arbitration after being acquired by the Sabres in the 2024 NHL Draft. Malenstyn came to Buffalo from the Washington Capitals in exchange for the 43rd overall pick. The Capitals then used that pick on defenseman Cole Hutson.

The 26-year-old has spent the last few years in the Capitals organization, bouncing between the NHL and AHL clubs. Last season, he played his first full NHL season, where he had 21 points (6-15) in 81 regular-season games. He also appeared in four playoff games.

A 2016 draft pick of the Capitals, Malenstyn has played 109 NHL games to date.
