Man dies in police-involved shooting in Kensington, New Hampshire, police say

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is investigating a fatal police officer-involved shooting in Kensington. While responding to a mental health call Monday afternoon, a Kensington police officer received information about a man inside a home on Olivia Lane who was threatening another person, police said. Officers from the Seacoast Emergency Response Team and eventually the Strafford County Regional Tactical Operations Unit responded, and a standoff lasting several hours ensued. During an encounter with the gunman at 10:30 p.m., six police officers fired their firearms and one officer fired a non-lethal round. Life-saving measures were attempted at the scene, but the man sustained fatal injuries and died, officials said. Neither police officer was physically injured, and there is no danger to the public from this incident. The New Hampshire Department of Justice and New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit investigations into the police officer-involved shooting are ongoing. An autopsy is planned and the identity of the person shot will be released upon completion.
