Australian woman allegedly raped by several men in Paris

She entered a restaurant at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and asked for help

An investigation has been launched into the alleged rape of an Australian woman in Paris last weekend. She claims to have been sexually assaulted by several men.

The woman, born in 1998, entered a restaurant on Boulevard de Clichy (in the city’s 18th arrondissement) at around 5 a.m. on Saturday July 20 and told employees that she had been raped by several men nearby.

She didn’t speak French and explained the situation in English. Restaurant staff then called emergency services, who took her to the nearby Bichat Hospital.

The Tribunal de Paris confirmed The connection that the Paris police authorities had launched an investigation into the allegation.

Whether the woman was a tourist or lives in France has not been officially confirmed.

French media reports said she was visiting the city and was drunk when she entered the restaurant, but this was not confirmed by the tribunal.

It concerns the alleged rape of a British tourist in Paris during the Fête de la musique in June.

The woman was found in a desperate state in front of the Châtelet-les-Halles shopping center.
