First Alert Weather: Weather weather returns for the start of the Lilac Festival

The rain moving south of the area on Thursday evening will trend heavier northwards, giving us a wet end to the work week. This means that on the opening day of the Lilac Festival we will experience rain showers and temperatures around 50°C with lots of clouds. The Finger Lakes will see the most persistent showers, while areas north and west of Rochester will trend toward drier weather Friday. Rain will remain steady overnight, leading to a dry start to the weekend.

Things will remain a bit unsettled this weekend, with scattered showers during the afternoon, but the morning should be dry and somewhat sunny. Sunday morning may start with a few showers, but we’ll see mostly dry weather and even some sunshine on Mother’s Day afternoon.

The chance of rain will continue into the new work week, with some rain returning on Monday and further showers on Tuesday. The forecast for next week is still a bit fuzzy as there is a stationary front draped nearby that will impact our temperatures and chance of rain. Stay with us as we refine the forecast.
